How New Students Get Started
We look forward to seeing you in the studio soon! The information below should help answer any questions you may have about how to start taking lessons here at our studio. Always feel free to reach out to us if you have any other questions or concerns before scheduling your first private lesson. We are here to help!

Overview
The Foundation Course just scratches the surface of the basics and gets us prepared to dive into the dances we end up choosing for your Bronze program. If you are not new to dancing, these lessons give your instructor time to evaluate and make improvements based on your current skill level. If you are new to dancing, like most people, this course gives your instructor time to introduce basic patterns and concepts you will be able to use right away.
The Bronze level of dancing is broken up into 4 levels: 1, 2, 3 and 4. By the time a student gets to a Bronze 4 level, they have achieved enough competency to never have to take another lesson if all they want is to be a great social dancer. That level may take somebody roughly 2-4 years depending on how many dances are being learned all at once and how often they take lessons and most importantly, practice what they have learned in between their lessons.

Foundation Course
Our Foundation Course is what new students start with. This is 4 private lessons at an introductory rate of $180 for the couple or a single student and this is paid on your first lesson. All lessons are 1 hour each. We will focus on the dances you want to learn while establishing what long-term goals you have for dancing. At the end of each lesson, your instructor will take a couple minutes to introduce concepts and best practices of how to get the most of your lessons and create good student habits.
Ideally, this course should be taken in a two week period for best results. After the Foundation Course is completed, a Bronze Program is what follows next.
Bronze Program
This is a larger, personally planned dance program tailored to you and is longer than the initial 4 private lessons. Programs can sometimes be around 10 to 100 private lessons spread out over a year or two. It all just depends on your goals. At the end of one of your lessons, we will explain more about that or we can always give you a call. Lessons are then taken at the regular enrollment price of $75/lesson; typically made in monthly installments. i.e.
-
One lesson a week/4 lessons a month/$300 a month.
-
Two lessons a week/8 lessons a month/$600 a month.
Some students take 2 lessons a week, but 1 private lesson a week is the most common. Bottom line, the more time you give me to see you each week, the quicker you will learn.

Scheduling & Payment
Scheduling
Private lessons are made by appointment M-F, Noon - 10pm and Weekends by request. Our studio location is 416 Laramie St Manhattan,KS 66502. We offer in-studio private lessons and online for those who would like to keep more distance due to COVID-19. We are allowing students to make the decision to wear a mask while they are here. Our staff has been fully vaccinated.
Payment
Payment for lessons can be made by Cash, Check or Card. If at all possible and not a huge inconvenience, Check or Cash payment is preferred, but we can absolutely take card.
What to Wear?
It is important to wear comfortable clothes when taking your dance lessons. A shoe that will allow you to turn on the ball of your foot and stay on your foot works well. No flip flops or sandals. A good test is to wear them on a tile, linoleum or hardwood floor and see if you can spin without drag on your knees.
Athletic wear, jeans, slacks, T-shirt, blouse, shorts, dress shirt are all fine, as long as you can move freely in it.
As soon as you have taken a few lessons and you realize that this is going to be a hobby you are going to stick with, you will need to invest in dance shoes.
